The Basket Square is a corner to corner crochet pattern designed for the Community Garden Crochet A Long. Squares make great crochet projects. They are portable and quick to make. And the best part is that you can combine them to make beautiful afghans and other projects.
This corner to corner basket square pattern is part of a wonderful collaboration among independent crochet designers! We have worked together to bring you a community garden blanket in true community style. Each designer is offering a square pattern, and you can combine them all to make a beautiful blanket that anyone will love.
When Helen of Sunflower Cottage Crochet invited me to join in this project, I thought a basket would be a perfect theme for a design. This generous basket is ready to help you gather all your favorite things from the garden.

About the Inspiration for the Corner to Corner Basket Square Pattern
Helen of Sunflower Cottage Crochet simply has the best ideas for collaborative crochet blanket projects! When she came up with the idea for a community garden crochet-a-long, I was all in.
My husband loves to garden. And I picked a basket because I thought it was a design that he would love!
This is an easy design that only uses two colors. So, it’s relaxing to make and easy to integrate into a larger blanket. You can choose any color that you love for your basket to make it fit well into your overall blanket.
About the Yarn
When I saw Lion Brand Skein Tones in my local craft store, I though it would be perfect for this project. The acrylic is very soft and easy to crochet, and the colors are fantastic! I can’t say enough about what a joy it was to crochet with this yarn. Plus the ivory and cocoa colors were just what I had in mind for my basket square.
