They can be fun for both beginners and more experienced crocheters.

The contrasting edge design lends itself to using up scraps of cotton yarn in different colors.
You can make them in any color combination you like.

About the Inspiration for the Marina Washcloth
For this washcloth, I wanted something that could show off a couple of colors. Plus I was interested in a design with some great texture.
The two bands on the edges of the washcloth will allow you to incorporate a complimentary or contrasting color. And the middle section is full of texture great for a soft washcloth.
About the Yarn
My sample washcloth uses two colors of Loops & Threads Classic Cotton. This is a nice, affordable 100% cotton yarn.
I especially liked the two shades of blue I found. Plus I got to pick it up at my local craft store.
For washcloths, I recommend 100% cotton yarn. Because it’s absorbent, it makes it great for washcloths!
You can use any worsted weight cotton yarn for the pattern.
If you’d like a really soft cotton, I’d recommend Knit Picks/We Crochet Dishie Yarn.
I’ve used Dishie for a number of my 100% cotton projects. It’s more tightly spun than some other 100% cotton yarns which seems to make it a bit softer.
