The patterns on Crafting Each Day sometimes use special crochet stitches. Detailed instructions for these stitches are included here.
Double crochet 3 together (dc3tog): yarn over, insert hook into next stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through two loops on hook (two loops remain on hook), yarn over, insert hook into next stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through two loops on hook (three loops remain on hook), yarn over, insert hook into next stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through two loops on hook (four loops remain on hook)**, yarn over and draw through all four remaining loops on hook giving the yarn a little tug at the end to tighten and complete the stitch.
Double crochet 5 together (dc5tog): follow directions for dc3tog until you reach the instruction marked ** and continue on: yarn over, insert hook into next stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through two loops on hook (five loops remaining on hook), yarn over, insert hook into next stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop, yarn over and drawn through two loops on hook (six loops remaining on hook), yarn over and draw through all six remaining loops on hook giving the yarn a little tug at the end to tighten and complete the stitch.
