I was inspired to design this blanket to take advantage of the beautiful colorways available in Caron Pantone X Bamboo yarn. Although this yarn has been discontinued, this is a wonderful pattern for combining different colors of yarn.
The sample was made using five braids of Caron Pantone X Bamboo in the Sunset Sky colorway. It will also work well in any worsted weight yarn in five colors of your choice. You will need approximately 180 yards each of four colors of your choice for the squares, and approximately 70 yards in an accent color for the first and last border rounds.
The recommended hook is size G/6 (4.5 mm) or the size needed to obtain gauge. You will also need a tapestry needle, at least 8 stitch markers, and a tape measure.
