About the Inspiration for the Pacifica Beanie Pattern
Sometimes it’s so challenging to find projects for men! My husband is a great sport though. He loves to wear all kinds of my crochet hats.
The Spiral Style Hat is one of his favorites. I wanted to do something a little more classic with this pattern and decided to design a hat in a more classic ribbed style.
And what could be more fun than being able to make a hat and scarf set? So, the idea was hatched for my Men’s Ribbed Scarf pattern and this hat to match.
I also wanted to try out a hat design where the basic hat is worked flat in a rectangle. I thought this would make it a super quick and easy pattern perfect for gifts as well as charity crochet projects!
About the Yarn
I used KnitPicks/WeCrochet Brava Tweed Worsted for the sample hat. The Brava yarns are great worsted weight choices.
They come in a large range of colors including the great tweed colors. And the generous skeins are reasonably priced.
Because they are acrylic or acrylic blends, they also wear well and are machine washable.
You can choose another worsted weight yarn to make your hat. Any fiber blend should work.
I think the hat would be particularly lovely in wool or wool blends.
